On Saturday, November 3rd, 2018, the Devbridge Group, bit&Byte, and the Lithuanian World Center sponsored a unique event, An Hour of Code, held at the Lithuanian World Center. Children between the ages of 7 and 14 learned the basics of programming. The participants were given an exciting opportunity to learn that computers can be used not only for games, but as a tool for creativity. The organizers were eager to test out this concept here at the Center to see if it should evolve into a larger project in the future. With 76 participants, the answer was made clear! Praėjusį šeštadienį, lapkričio 3-čią dieną, Pasaulio lietuvių centre įvyko puikus naujas renginys – Kodavimo valanda 7-14 metų vaikams – bendras Devbridge, bit&Byte ir PLC projektas, skatinantis vaikus išmokti programavimo pagrindų. Prieš renginį buvo aiškus tikslas – suteikti vaikams galimybę sužinoti ir suprasti, kad kompiuteris gali būti naudojamas ne tik žaidimams, bet ir kūrybai. Tai buvo tarsi “dirvos” tyrimas, bandymas apibrėžti, ar tokio pobūdžio mokymai būtų pageidaujami nuolatos. Labai tikimės, kad 76 vaikų dalyvavimas šiame renginyje tai įrodė.
